Description of the attraction

In 1900. Pyotr Mitrofanovich Zybin buys a yard place on Tsaritsynskaya Street (now Kiselyova), near Kamyshinsky Boulevard (now Rakhova Street) for the construction of his own house. According to the project of the architect himself, a beautiful two-story mansion with a hipped tower and an original balcony in the form of a keyhole is being built. A cozy courtyard adjoined the house, where the Zybin couple planted fruit trees and laid out beds. The terrace of the house, overlooking the garden, was a favorite place for the family to relax in the warm season. The tower housed a large library and workshop of Pavel Mitrofanovich. The architect lived on the first floor with his family, and the second floor was rented out to the professor of medicine Gramström.

P. M. Zybin is one of the main architects of Saratov, who created the appearance of a merchant city. According to the architect's projects, the following were built: the Church "Satisfy my sorrows" on Kirov Avenue, the Ptashkin apartment building (Sovetskaya st. 3), the eye clinic (Volskaya st. 12), the city public bank on Teatralnaya square, and this is only part of the architect's work that survived until our days. Zybin's activities were not limited to drawing up projects, in most cases the architect was directly involved in the construction, for which he enjoyed unlimited trust and unshakable authority among the builders. Having presented the city with a number of architectural monuments, Pavel Mitrofanovich Zybin entered the list of the best architects of Saratov, along with A. M. Salko, K. L. Mufke and S. A. Kalistratov.

Now the mansion of P. M. Zybin houses the Ministry for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports of the city of Saratov.
