Description of the attraction
Yuruk Park is located on a small peninsula in the northern part of Kemer. The park is an open-air museum of ethnography. The park's exposition tells about the culture and life of the Yuruk (nomadic population of Turkey).
Yuruk Park is a kind of historical theater that takes visitors back to ancient times. Here you can see what a traditional Turkish village looked like, as well as the trappings of village life. Learn that in the summer, nomads lived on high plateaus, and wintered in the valley. While walking in Yuruk Park, you will see staged scenes of rural life, as well as the opportunity to taste traditional Yuruk food. The most popular dish is Sac Boregi, which is a multi-layered treat with a variety of fillings.
The Park houses exhibitions of traditional products presented by artisans. Tourists have the opportunity to observe the process of making products and buy their favorite souvenirs. Those who wish can even sit in a real nomad tent.
The Yuruk Park itself is located in a picturesque place: in the mountains overgrown with pine forest. A magnificent view of the sea opens from the cape. There are many cozy cafes and restaurants in the Park where you can relax, have a cup of Turkish coffee and have a delicious meal. If you wish, you can smoke a hookah. Yuruk Park is a place where you can take a break from the modern pace of life and feel like “guests from the future”.
