Description of the attraction
The Mozyr United Museum of Local Lore was formed immediately after the end of the war on June 18, 1948 by decision No. 618 of 1948-18-06 of the Executive Committee of the Polesie Regional Council of Working People's Deputies "On the opening of the Regional Museum of Local Lore in Mozyr." Initially, the museum was called the Polesie Regional Museum of Local Lore.
In 1977, the building that housed the museum on Lenin Street was demolished. In the early 1980s, archaeological research into Mozyr began. A large number of archaeologically unique items were found in the areas of Castle Hill, the Cistercian monastery, and the historical center of the city.
Now the united museum of local lore includes several branches. Historical Museum Mozyr Castle - an exposition of an ancient wooden castle on the territory of the Castle Hill.
Museum "Paleskaya Veda" - an ethnographic composition introduces us to the Slavic national traditions that we have inherited from our distant ancestors. Here you can see the traditional hut of the Mozyr woodland - the interior, household items, clothes and much more.
Museum-workshop of N. N. Pushkar shows the world of Belarusian clay sculpture, created by the artist-ceramist, Honored Art Worker of the BSSR N. N. Pushkar.
The Museum of Partisan Glory in the village of Romanovka tells about the partisan movement of Mozyr Polesie during the Great Patriotic War.
In 1984, an exhibition hall was opened, where interesting exhibitions, meetings with artists, religious and political figures, holidays, and competitions are regularly held.
