Description of the attraction
The Lycian tombs are the main attraction of the resort. The tombs date back to the 4th century BC. This is a very special kind of gravestone art - massive stone sculptures of the original form.
The most famous is the tomb of Amyntas, which is a platform with a portico carved into the rock and two Ionic columns. You can climb to it by steps. On the wall of the tomb there is an inscription in Greek "Amyntas, son of Hermagios".
Another tomb has a rather unusual design. Rectangular in plan, with wooden supports, it has a Gothic-style lid and arches on both sides. The lid is decorated with reliefs depicting war, which are believed to tell the story of the life of the person buried in this tomb.
