Description of the attraction
Dnepropetrovsk Circus is another attraction of this beautiful city and one of the oldest stationary circuses in Ukraine. It was founded in the 19th century and was called Yekaterinoslavsky. The buildings of the circus were designed and erected by the famous architect J. Truzzi at that time. However, the original building was destroyed in 1929, after which a circus tent was erected in its place. But he did not stand for long - during the Great Patriotic War, the circus was bombarded and completely destroyed. Since 1959, the circus was moved to Schmidt Street, but it worked only in the warm season (since the premises were not heated). And only in 1980, the Dnepropetrovsk circus found a second life. He was transferred to the city center, to the embankment. Lenin.
The building, specially built for the needs of the circus, was designed by P. Nirinberg and is unique in its way. Its main advantage is the wonderfully designed domed vault, which not only creates excellent acoustics, but also allows you to easily attach the suspension of the artists' apparatus to perform magnificent performances.
Famous not only in Ukraine, but also around the world, circus dynasties - Durovs, Doveikos, Yarovs, etc. performed in the circus. Such great artists as M. Rumyantsev, I. Kio, Yu. Nikulin, V. Zapashny performed here.
Today the circus is flourishing and is a favorite place for family leisure activities for both residents of Dnepropetrovsk and city guests. Visit him too. Here you can fully enjoy circus art, feel like a child again and believe in a fairy tale. Funny clowns, dexterous acrobats, fearless tamers and animals performing great numbers will not let you get bored.
