Description of the attraction

Atlantic Marine Park, one of the largest in Northern Europe, is located 3 km from the city of Ålesund in a picturesque tourist area by the ocean with fantastic views of the surrounding islands. Built between land and sea, this unique aquarium was officially opened by the Norwegian royal couple in 1988.

Visiting the Atlantic Marine Park, guests of the city can get acquainted with the flora and fauna of the fjords, as well as with the variety of inhabitants of the deep sea, which are here in their natural environment, because water is pumped into the aquariums directly from the ocean.

Every day at 13.00, a diving show is organized for visitors with hand-feeding of such fish as halibut, cod, conger eel, etc. The smallest visitors to the park are especially attracted by the process of feeding the crabs.

Near the marine park there are fishing spots and a beach for swimming and diving, as well as cultural sites and hiking trails. On the territory of the Atlantic Marine Park, visitors can relax and have a snack in a cozy cafe.
