Description of the attraction

The Moscow Children's Chamber Puppet Theater is located in the north-east of Moscow, in the Rostokino district. The theater was founded in 1990 and is located in the building of the former cinema "Sever", on the street named after the Russian storyteller Bazhov, next to the ancient Rostokinsky aqueduct, under the shade of old lime trees. In 1990, the Executive Committee of the Moscow City Council made a decision to create MDKTK, on the basis of the "Puppet Association of Theater Performances" of Mosconcert.

The theater was founded by the Honored Artist of Russia V. V. Eliseev, a student of Sergei Obraztsov. It took two years to create the theater. The dilapidated building of the cinema was turned into a fairytale tower. The theater opened its doors to young spectators in February 1993 with the premiere of the fairy tale "The Scarlet Flower" by S. Aksakov.

The repertoire of the theater includes many different performances. Performances for the youngest spectators from three years old - "Well, wolf, wait a minute!" Kurlyandsky. "The Little Penguin", L. Dobretsova. “A goby is a tar barrel, V. Trofimova. "Spring troubles of Timcho", J. Vilkovsky. "The Bunny - the Connoisseur", S. Mikhalkov and many other performances. For older children, the theater staged the play "Our Concert". At the moment, the theater's repertoire includes more than thirty performances.

In the foyer of the theater there is a permanent exhibition of models for theatrical performances. And also fairy-tale characters live in the foyer: a kind dragon and a fluffy bear. The theatrical buffet has tables - aquariums. Live goldfish swim in them. One of the walls of the buffet is a huge aquarium, which is home to tropical fish from the mysterious Amazon. Some of them reach fifty centimeters in length. Children's drawings of fairy-tale characters are exhibited in the foyer of the theater.

In 2009, A. I. Aleksandrov, an honorary worker of culture in Moscow, became the head of the theater. V. I. Badzhi became the chief director of the theater. In the theater, on the one hand, literary traditions are carefully preserved, on the other hand, work is going on with materials that are relevant today, consonant with modernity.

The theater troupe lives a busy life. In recent years, the theater has toured the Urals and the North Caucasus, Komi and the Baltic states. In 2010, the theater took part in the International Festival of Children's Performances "Golden Turnip" (Samara) with the play "Goby - a tar barrel". With the play "Gus Ishka" he took part in the Interregional Festival of Puppet Theaters "Volga Meetings" in Kostroma. In 2012, the play "Why Muchuchka" took part in the International Festival "Anthill" (Ivanovo). At the festival "Visiting Teatrushi" (Yaroslavl), the play "Tell me about Little Red Riding Hood" was shown.

The Moscow Children's Chamber Puppet Theater sees its task in fostering a culture of emotional experiences in young spectators, developing imaginative thinking in them, conveying high moral ideals and warmth. For this, the productions use all the most expressive means and the most modern technologies.
