Description of the attraction

In the city of Kirovsk, after a long reconstruction, the museum of the famous writer Venedikt Erofeev, which has no analogues in the world, has started its work again. The museum is located in the central city library and is hardly noticeable for visiting tourists, but for local citizens this museum is one of the favorite places of leisure.

It is believed that it was from the Khibiny station that the famous heretic and idol of a huge generation, Venedikt Erofeev, began his career. 11 years after the writer died, a museum named after the famous writer was created in the city of Kirovsk with the active work of local enthusiasts. The opening of the museum took place on October 24, 2001 - just on the birthday of the writer. The main organizer and permanent curator of the museum was Yevgeny Shtahl, who literally collected parts of the chronicle history of the life of a popular fellow countryman.

The museum of Venedikt Erofeev contains his personal belongings, foreign publications, autographs and the rarest photographs. It is the numerous things of the past that create the atmosphere of the distant 1960s in the museum.

The museum began its work with children's photographs of the writer, messages and letters to family and friends. The area of the museum premises is about 20 sq. m. The artist of the museum was Dmitry Novitsky, who created a unique and original interior of the exhibition hall, reminiscent of the tastes of the writer himself and characterizing his state of mind. Initially, when considering the design of the museum premises, Dmitry Novitsky wanted to place the writer's suitcases in the very central part of the room, but nevertheless decided to abandon this idea.

The most important exhibit of the museum is the portrait of Andrei Sinyavsky (literary critic, writer, critic), which was honorably presented to Erofeev for the famous poem "Moscow - Petushki". It is a straw hat, as well as glasses with an aluminum frame, sliding on a bast nose, that can quite brightly and believably emphasize the image of an unrecognized genius.

Everyone knows that young Venichka Erofeev was literally an idol in his school. The museum presents a school exposition, in which you can even see the school pioneer tie of the sixth grader Venichka. Over the course of time, the writer became very reddened, which to a greater extent reflects the rebellious spirit of the famous teenager, who in the future had the strength to turn the traditional ideas about a prosperous youth as an obligatory step on the path to honorable youth.

Schoolchildren, as well as students from the city of Kirovsk and Apatitov come to the museum on excursions. It is worth noting that the poem by Venedikt Erofeev entitled "Moscow - Petushki" is included in the compulsory secondary school curriculum for grade 11. Numerous literary evenings were held, in addition to Kirovsk, in the cities of the region.

The museum is actively involved in local history work. Erofeev's popular book "Notes of a Psychopath" contains a large amount of Kirov material. Most often, the writer gives the names and surnames of about 74 residents of the city. Painstaking work is carried out in the archives in order to collect the necessary information concerning these people. Most of the writer's acquaintances dispersed to the cities of the region.

During its work, the museum took part in various scientific conferences: regional studies in the city of Vyatka, Tyutchevskaya in Bryansk, Buninskaya in Orel, Shchedrinskaya in Tver and others. In addition, the museum participated in the compilation of a chronicle about the life and work of the writer, which was included in the last issue of the famous almanac "Living Arctic", dedicated to Venedict Erofeev. Information about the museum and about Erofeev's holidays was published in articles of not only local, but also Oryol, Murmansk, Vladimir and central newspapers: Trud, Knizhnoe Obozreniye, Vestnik.

The museum exposition is replenished annually. It currently has the status of a public museum. An idea is being developed for the acquisition of the museum fund, which provides for the acquisition and copying of Erofeev's manuscripts, literature that is lacking, meetings with close people of the writer and recording their memories, the discovery of theaters in which Erofeev's works were staged in order to acquire materials about the performances, and so on.
