Producers don't go to any lengths to improve the most popular drink on the planet - beer. It is brewed with atypical products, sweets are added to it, mixed with herbs according to old secrets - and as a result, they get the strangest beer on the planet. And these original intoxicating drinks have their fans.

Tastes like pizza

Living in the US state of Illinois is not boring. All over the world, snacks are served with beer - crackers, salted fish and seafood, etc. In Illinois, the problem of finding a snack for beer was radically solved - they created the beer “Mamma Mia! Pizza Beer”, which tastes like pizza. That is, you drink alcohol and have a snack at the same time. And at the same time you save money on buying snacks.

The Illinois hop drink is prepared in an original way: no flavors are added to the water. On the contrary, exclusively natural products are used. The real pizza is soaked in malt, which is brought to the brewery from neighboring cafes. To make it tastier, tomatoes, herbs, garlic and other products that are suitable for making pizza are also poured into barrels.

Beer is infused on pizza for about 14 days, after which it is rolled up in containers and transported to shops.

Such beer is inexpensive. This is not to say that it is swept off the shelves, but still people like liquid pizza.

Caramel drink

English brewers also keep up with their Illinois counterparts and experiment with beer flavors in every possible way. As a result of another experience, a caramel low-alcohol drink “Wells Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale” appeared here.

How it is prepared, what is included in its composition, is a trade secret. The general public was told only that a sugar mixture was added to the beer, which tastes like pudding, toffee and caramel at the same time. However, you don't need to think that this is lemonade. The drink invigorates and leaves behind the "correct" aftertaste, indicating that you drank exactly beer.

And again a snack in beer

Unusual beer, which was immediately accepted by consumers, is produced in the American Michigan. It is called "Mangalitsa Pig Porter" and is prepared in an unusual way:

  • together with beer in one container, the head and bones of a pig placed in a special tissue bag are boiled;
  • with such strange ingredients, this drink is brewed until fat collects on the surface;
  • then the beer continues to cook for a while in another container.

Pork beer sells well due to its excellent aftertaste. After a glass of this intoxicating drink, it seems that you have just eaten a juicy pork steak.

Beer and Peanut Butter Blend

Manufacturers in pursuit of customers create, at times, paradoxical drinks. For example, Edmond's Oast, an American company from Tennessee, produces beer with chocolate and banana flavors.

However, their biggest hit was PB&J Milk Stout, which is designed to remind Western consumers of childhood. Every American grew up on peanut butter sandwiches. It was this, as well as a few other sweet ingredients such as grape juice, that the brewers added to their products and got peanut beer.

Worth its weight in gold

Danish brewers from Mikkeller produce an expensive intoxicating drink called Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, which contains the most common coffee. True, it is not a simple variety, but the one that is especially appreciated by gourmets - Luwak coffee.

The coffee beans in this beer have one peculiarity - they are fed to musang animals, similar to martens, before being sold. They eat only the highest quality coffee fruits. Then the grains are selected from musang excrement, processed, dried and sold to connoisseurs. The cost of 1 kg of such coffee is about $ 1200.

And if you add luwak coffee to beer, then, according to some brewers, you get a very sophisticated drink.

Hellish swill

Mexicans not only brew vodka from cacti and seize it with a huge amount of pepper, they also make beer based on poisonous scorpions.

The Unknown Brewing Co company promises to everyone who has bought a can of beer with a long and very pretentious name “La Jordana del Escorpion en Fuego Hacia la Casa del Chupacabra Muerto”, which mentions a fire scorpion going to a dead Chupacabra, promises an unprecedented taste. The drink is infused with 99 scorpions, all the same long-suffering cacti and hot serrano pepper. Beer with a strength of 10% is suitable exclusively for real men! Ladies will risk such a drink.

Moon dust

For beer lovers who prefer something special, we recommend paying attention to the “Celest-jewel-ale” drink from Dogfish Head Brewery. The process of its preparation is traditional, only additional ingredients are unusual.

During fermentation, stones brought from the moon are added to the drink. They are provided by the manufacturer company "ILC Dover", collaborating with NASA. Special moon minerals are believed to enhance the taste of the beer. Controversial statement, but consumers love this beer!

You can try Celest-jewel-ale in the bars of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. They give special astronaut gloves to the moon beer.

In future

It is quite possible that soon there will be a drink on store shelves next to traditional types of beer, which the Sumerians could well have drunk more than 4 thousand years ago. Experts from the Great Lakes Brewing brewery and the clever guys from the University of Chicago were engaged in recreating the Sumerian beer.

The exact Sumerian recipes with dosages have not survived, but scientists know about clay tablets, which say that the Sumerians did not deny themselves a mug or two of filtered beer of different shades. It was reddish, amber, dark brown. This effect was achieved through various additives.

Brewers suggested that the Sumerians added various herbs, roots, and fruits to the malt. Now scientists have identified a number of ingredients that could be part of the beer created by the ancient people. Experimenters add dill, juniper berries and some other products to modern beer. If tasters approve of the new taste of beer, it will be launched into production.
