A tourist who goes on a long-awaited vacation to the sea does not even suspect what dangers he may face on sultry beaches, forest glades, mountain paths, near ringing streams. We have compiled a list of the most dangerous insects in the South of Russia that await unlucky travelers.
In the Krasnodar Territory, there are more than 200 species of insects. Many of them live in the places where unsuspecting tourists come - on the Black Sea coast, in the Caucasian reserve. Not all of the small, almost invisible insects are poisonous and attack humans. But the bites of some of them are painful and sometimes life-threatening. Therefore, in case of any insect bites, it is better to consult a doctor immediately!

Karakurt
Spiders are in the lead in our rating. In recent years, in the Kuban and Crimea, they began to notice terrible karakurt. The appearance of these spiders in previously atypical areas for them is associated with climate change.
You can recognize a karakurt by its bright color - there are red-orange spots on its abdomen. A person should be afraid only of females of karakurt. Biologists say that the victim may not even feel the moment of the spider bite, but 10-15 minutes after it, he will understand that something is wrong with her. Spider venom causes a bunch of symptoms:
- breathing worsens;
- abdominal muscles become stone;
- dizzy;
- hands tremble;
- vomiting appears;
- the person starts to delirium.

A person immediately after the bite of a karakurt will be able to help others. The wound is burned with a burning match. This method can be used if no more than 2 minutes have passed since the bite.
Wolf spider
Another poisonous representative of the arachnids, which is found in the southern coastal regions of Russia, is the wolf spider. In length, it can reach 3 cm, has bulging eyes, moves on the ground and lives in holes.
Its bite will not be fatal, but it can cause a lot of inconvenience, causing redness, nausea, and heart palpitations. To get rid of the venom of a wolf spider, it is recommended to rinse the bite site under cool water.
South Russian tarantula
The tarantula looks like a wolf spider. This is also a spider with a shaggy reddish body that lives in a burrow. Its depth sometimes reaches 40 cm. In search of food, tarantulas often crawl into residential buildings, where people are victims of their bites.
A tarantula attack is possible only if the person somehow harmed him. In this case, the spider becomes aggressive, can jump 15 cm from the floor, trying to bite the victim.
The tarantula bite is very painful. A person will not die from the poison of a tarantula, but he will suffer from pain for several days. Allergic reactions are also possible to the bite.
You can cope with a tarantula bite with improvised means - you don't have to go to the hospital. You can simply treat the bite site with an antiseptic.
Scorpion
Scorpions were seen in Sochi, Crimea, Taman. In the Krasnodar Territory, two species of these arthropods are known that do not grow longer than 5 cm.
A scorpion bite is unpleasant but not fatal. You need to start to panic if a person has cramps or stomach pains. If there are no such symptoms, put ice over the bite site.
If you see a scorpion in close proximity, either do not touch it or grab its tail and throw it aside.
Bees, wasps, hornets, gadflies
Flying insects with a sting can also cause considerable harm to humans. Bees are considered even more dangerous than wasps, as they usually do not attack alone. You can even die from numerous bee stings. In addition, some people are allergic to their poison.
Wasps, unlike bees, do not lose their sting when bitten. Bumblebees are not as aggressive as bees and wasps. They can also inject poison, but only if they feel a threat from a person. Allergic reactions after bumblebee bites also happen.
Hornets are also found in the coastal regions of southern Russia. If you see this, it is better to remain motionless so as not to provoke an insect that bites very painfully.
Gadflies - flies resembling bumblebees, on the contrary, do not pose a danger to humans. Only in Central America are there gadflies that a person should be wary of.
Blister beetle
Also in the Kuban there is a dangerous species of beetles - the beetle-blister, a locust thunderstorm. It is a small, brightly colored insect that secretes a dangerous venom that causes abscesses. He will not attack a person himself, but people often pick up unknown bugs or shake them off their clothes, and the poison gets into their hands.
In no case should the beetle be swallowed, otherwise you will have to say goodbye to life. Lethal cases are inevitable if a bug on a picnic gets into a cauldron of water, soup, porridge.
If the blister beetle does share poison with you, rinse the affected area with water, and then use prednisolone ointment.
