Local resorts stand out for their special climatic conditions, the availability of high-quality modern equipment and experienced specialists.
Popular excursions in Serbia
There are not so many excursion offers, most of them refer to the capital, the handsome Belgrade. Walking around the city can last from an hour to several hours. A sightseeing tour will introduce you to the main attractions, themed ones will allow you to choose one of many directions, for example, a walk through the catacombs that pass right under the city.
From the countryside, the most attractive is a trip to the town of Novi Sad, which is often combined with visits to other attractions, for example, the Petrovarazdin fortress, Fruska Gora with its famous monasteries and the town of Sremski Karlovtsi. Drvengrad is also popular, a village with its own special atmosphere, it is a new building, the author of the project was the ingenious filmmaker Emir Kusturica.
Walk in the capital
At first, the tourist will have a difficult time, since there are many options for excursions in the main city of Serbia, and the travel time is from 2 to 6 hours, and the price difference is large, but on average 20 € per person. There are not many attractions in Belgrade, so sometimes the route includes objects that are not located in the city itself, but in the vicinity.
Among the most notable historical monuments is the Rakovica Monastery, built in the 14th century. Pilgrims from all over the country and abroad gather here to pay homage to the famous Patriarch Paul, who finished his earthly journey in the monastery. During a trip to Belgrade, tourists will get acquainted with the following architectural masterpieces: Belgrade Fortress; Russian church; a monument erected in honor of the Russian Tsar Nicholas II; the temple of St. Sava, striking in its grandiose size.
There are options for excursions, including visiting the districts of New Belgrade, Dedina, Zemun. It also has its own tourist highlights, for example, the Church of St. Nicholas, a platform with stunning views of the city, the magnificent Danube embankment.
Travel to the spiritual center of Serbia
A very interesting excursion can be a trip to the Homol Mountains, which received from historians the unspoken title of the cultural and spiritual center of medieval Serbia. You will have to spend daylight hours on the road, but during this time you will be able to get acquainted with a variety of historical and cultural monuments and beautiful landscapes. The cost of the trip is from 150 € for a small company.
Meetings with amazing places begin already on the way, the first to greet guests is the Manasia Monastery, founded in the 15th century, and immediately took on the mission of the spiritual center of the Serbs. The next historical monument is the Gornyak Monastery, which also dates back to the 15th century, and is located at the foot of a picturesque mountain range surrounded by dense vegetation.
The trip is connected with beautiful natural sites, such as the Resavskaya cave, the Krupayskoye vrelo and Bolshoy Buk waterfalls, the Khomolskie mountains themselves and hot springs.
Nature and people
Many excursions in Serbia are complex, including visits to cultural and natural sites, historical monuments and modern entertainment or health centers. One of these routes suggests combining a visit to the ethnographic village of Maikin Salash with a visit to the zoo and rest on Lake Palich. Price for one person from 50 €.
The first stop on the route will be Maykin Salash, an ethno-village covering an area of 30 hectares. Here is the largest recreation center in Serbia, there is a restaurant with national cuisine, an equestrian club and a lake with organized fishing, an orchard and a small ethnographic museum. In such a center, each guest can find entertainment to their liking or interests.
The petting zoo offers close acquaintance with representatives of the Serbian fauna. Animals are in conditions that are close to their natural ones, so it is difficult to call this place a zoo, but you can see the inhabitants in their almost natural environment.
Lake Palić is considered the largest in the Vojvodina region and the most beautiful. Scientists have proven that the climate in this place and the lake water have healing properties. Today the place is one of the important resort areas in Serbia, here you can just relax on the coast, go hiking and cycling, swim and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
