Sweden is popular with fans of excursions (Stockholm is in particular demand with its 14 islands famous for museums and architectural creations), alpine skiing (at their service - the snow-capped slopes of the Scandinavian mountains), ecological recreation (they will enjoy a lot of joy exploring an untouched by man corner of nature - Swedish Lapland). And for sure for many it will be a discovery that having arrived in this region, everyone will have the opportunity to visit the waterfalls of Sweden.

Njupeskar waterfall

It is the tallest waterfall in Sweden (it turns into an “icefall” in winter): its height is 125 m (in free fall, the height is 93 m), and it is located on the Newpon River. In the park, where Njupeskar is located, guests will be able to: meet a variety of birds (the symbol of the park is the kiksha bird) and animals; see the oldest tree in the world “Old Tikko” (its age is about 10,000 years).

Hammarforsen waterfall

It is the youngest Swedish waterfall - in honor of which the violinist Albert Brannlund composed the melody “The Noise of Hammarforsen”.

Trollhattan waterfall

It is a waterfall with 6 rapids, with a total height of 32 m (they are jokingly called “punctual”, since in the summer months they are turned on every day at 15:00) on the Geta-Elv river (if you wish, you can swim in the river or take a boat ride along it). The surrounding area is interesting because travelers can visit the Saab Museum (here guests can admire a variety of car models), attend festivals and auctions, as well as all kinds of events taking place.

Tannforsen waterfall

The water level in the 38-meter waterfall (drop height - 32 m) depends on the season and reaches its peak in mid-May. This natural wonder can be admired even at dusk, as it is illuminated by halogen bulbs after sunset (until 21:00). At the foot there is a hut (140 square meters), which can be compared to a real ice palace - walking through its rooms, guests will be able to see various figures and sculptures made of ice. And under the waterfall there is a cave, which is allowed to visit for everyone from February to April.

It is worth noting that a restaurant and a gift shop can be found next to the waterfall. The area surrounding Tannforsen is interesting for travelers because it is possible to meet exclusive animals and plants (this is due to the constant high humidity).
