Alanya has its advantages: here you can relax on the Cleopatra beach, acquire famous silks at local bazaars, go on an excursion to the Dim cave in order to view stalactites and stalagmites, and after sunset spend time in one of the resort's hangout places - in the port.

Alanya fortress

Previously, the fortress was impregnable: it is surrounded by walls in 3 rows (the length is more than 6 km), on which there were once bastions with loopholes and about 160 towers. Today, tourists will be able to see the ruins of cisterns and Byzantine churches, the main gates of Alanya from the outside of the fortress, and from the inside - ancient brick reservoirs (one of the 2 functions to this day).

Kyzyl Kule Tower

This 33-meter tower, which is the symbol of the city, is called Red because it was built using red brick (it is the best example of Seljuk architecture). Observation windows and loopholes can be seen around the perimeter of the octagon-shaped tower, which were formerly used to pour boiling water and hot tar onto enemies.

Visitors here are interested in the Ethnographic Museum (1st floor; closed on Monday) - it invites them to study local heraldry and get acquainted with the history of Alanya and the Kyzyl Kule tower (museum exhibits are presented in the form of looms, clothes of the Ottoman Empire era and works of folk art). And to get up to the observation deck, you need to climb the stairs with 85 stone steps (from there you will be able to admire Alanya and the Mediterranean Sea).

Lighthouse

The 20-meter lighthouse (visible at a distance of 200 nautical miles) of white stone, after restoration, boasts frescoes on a nautical theme (they adorn the wall along the spiral staircase inside the structure). It is worth noting that sometimes a fee is charged for visiting the lighthouse, but often you can enter it completely free of charge.

Damlatash cave

Inside the cave, 15 m high and about 30 m long, you can admire the stalactite and stalagmite formations (they are illuminated by artificial illumination of red, blue and yellow colors), as well as improve your health, especially for patients with asthma. This is possible due to the constant temperature (+ 22-23˚ C), high humidity (90%) and the content of carbon dioxide in the air (its content is 10 times higher than in ordinary air). For the convenience of visitors, the cave is equipped with benches where you can sit comfortably breathing in the healing air. And in the vicinity of the cave, you will be able to find a small market and a beach.
