Los Angeles, the capital of the world of show business, is an attractive place for travelers: they prefer to swim in the Pacific Ocean (both serene and active pastime awaits them on the beaches), pamper themselves with pleasant shopping, have fun at noisy discos, go on an excursion around the city, implying visits to Hollywood, the Avenue of Stars and other interesting sites.

Hollywood Sign

The famous sign is located on Mount Lee at 490 meters above sea level, and is reliably guarded by a video surveillance system and motion detectors (when approaching closer than 45 meters, an alarm is triggered and the police are automatically called). But tourists have a chance to admire the inscription and take a lot of photos - the best views of the inscription are from the observation deck of Griffith Park.

Watts Towers

These towers - one of the symbols of Los Angeles - represent 17 buildings up to 30 m high, in the construction of which materials were used in the form of steel, bottle bottoms, glass shards, tiles, seashells, and in some parts of the towers you can see hand-painted paintings. It is worth noting that the creator of the towers, Simon Rodia, was not an architect, he was looking for the material necessary for the construction, carefully looking at his feet, while walking on rough terrain.

Useful information: address: 1727-1765 East 107th Street, website: www.wattstowers.us, ticket price - $ 7.

Griffith Observatory

Travelers with interest examine the expositions of the exhibition hall, admire the starry sky through a telescope, watch the show "In the Center of the Universe" in the planetarium (cost - $ 7), climb the observation deck (from here stunning views of Los Angeles and Hollywood), satisfy hunger in a cafe (it is worth coming here for dinner to enjoy the food served and the sunset).

Bank of the USA Tower

A recognizable high-rise symbol of Los Angeles, the 73-story skyscraper (more than 300 meters high; the building has a helipad on the roof) features a light façade and stepped architecture. Travelers will be able to see the tower from anywhere in the city, but they will not be able to take excursions around the building, because they are not conducted (since offices are open here, you must present a pass at the entrance). Still, they have a chance to get acquainted with the interior - they should book a table in one of the restaurants that have found their refuge in a skyscraper.
