Tourists rush to Middle East Jordan for interesting excursions to the ancient Nabatean cities and in search of a beach holiday on the Red Sea. The country also offers treatment at the Dead Sea and trips to the natural reserves of the Wadi Rum desert. When planning your vacation, you will have to choose the Jordan airport, which will be most convenient for implementing your plans.
Russian travelers have the opportunity to fly to the capital's air harbor with a direct flight from Moscow Domodedovo on the wings of the Royal Jordanian airline. Travel time will be about 4 hours.
Jordan International Airports
Both international airports in Jordan are named after the royalties:
- The country's main air gate is located 35 km south of Amman and is named after Queen Alia. Details on flight schedules, passenger services and transfers to the capital can be found on the airport website - www.jcaa.org.jo.
- The King Hussein Airport is designed for tourists arriving on the beaches of Jordan. The city where the airport is located is called Aqaba. It is located on the shores of the eponymous bay of the Red Sea, and has dozens of hotels for beach holidays.
Metropolitan direction
Jordan International Airport Queen Alia serves as the base for the national carrier Royal Jordanian. From here there are daily flights to Cairo and London, Sharjah and Algeria, Dubai and Frankfurt, Istanbul and Sharm el-Sheikh. You can also get from Moscow to Amman by connecting flights using Lufthansa, Air France, Etihad Airways, Turkish Airlines, Aegean Airlines and many others.
The new terminal in the capital's air harbor was opened in 2013. The terminal's designers were inspired by Bedouin tents, resulting in a terminal roof that resembles their shape.
At the passengers' service there are Duty Free shops, playrooms for children, restaurants and souvenir shops, currency exchange offices and free wireless Internet. The transfer to the city is conveniently organized using shuttles, departing around the clock every half hour. You can also get to the Jordanian capital by taxi or a rented car in the arrivals area.
To beach resorts
Passengers on flights landing at Jordan's Aqaba airport usually head for a beach holiday in the Red Sea resort. However, the border cities of Israel and Egypt are located within a radius of 20 km from the takeoff field, which makes it possible to use this airport for those who flew to rest in neighboring states.
Aqaba's air gate is named after King Hussein and receives domestic flights from Amman and international flights from Dubai and Istanbul. Finnair and Jetairfly from Helsinki and Brussels, as well as charters from Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Belgrade, Milan and Stockholm land here during the season.
Despite its small size, Jordan Aqaba Airport offers passengers a standard range of services, including gift shops, cafes, bank and post offices and VIP lounges.
