Israel has a well-developed transport infrastructure. Popular means of transportation around the country are buses, cars and trains. The railway provides safe and reliable transportation of passengers. Israel's trains are moving along established routes. They make stops at train stations in large cities and at small suburban stations. Many residents of the country, like foreign tourists, prefer to travel by train. Traveling by rail is considered faster and more comfortable than traveling by bus. The passenger is more comfortable in the carriage than in the bus cabin.
Railway device
Israel's trains belong to the state-owned company, which has the largest transport infrastructure in the country. The carriages on trains are of two- and one-story. All trains are equipped with bathrooms, washbasins, air conditioning and telephones, but they do not have a dining car. For the convenience of passengers, carts with drinks and sandwiches are periodically transported along the aisles. Trains are often late, especially on weekends. It's hard to find a place on Sunday in the Haifu and Tel Aviv destinations.
Israel Railways runs in the north from Nahariya to Kiryat Gat and Dimona in the south. From west to east, it runs from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Railroad tracks follow through the cities of the central part of the state: Tikva, Petah, Kfar Saba. Today, work is underway to expand and modernize the railway. For this reason, construction work is underway in some areas.
