There are a lot of arguments in favor of rest in Montenegro. The first and most important is the undoubted kinship of our cultures and religions, customs and traditions, and therefore it is comfortable and pleasant for a Russian traveler to spend a vacation on Montenegrin beaches and ski slopes. The second reason why compatriots choose the best resorts in Montenegro is the ease of organizing the tour. An entry visa is not required for a Russian tourist, the flight from Moscow takes about three hours, and border and customs formalities are simple and straightforward. And, finally, the cost of tours to Montenegro is pleasantly pleasing, and the most ordinary person can afford to relax on the Adriatic.

Family beach resorts

The continental coastline of the Montenegrin coast of the Adriatic Sea is approximately 300 km long. The beaches stretch for seventy kilometers and at each resort they are different - from artificial, filled with concrete to covered with fine clean sand. The peculiarity of the coastline of Montenegro is the small bays, in which, in fact, the beaches are located. These natural shelters from the winds provide holidaymakers with an ideal sea for most of the swimming season.

For family holidays, the most comfortable are four Montenegrin resorts:

  • Becici is far enough away from the noisy nightlife of Budva, and therefore nothing will disturb the rest of kids and adherents of peace and quiet here. The resort's sandy beach offers affordable entertainment for older kids and their parents. On the coast, you can rent a catamaran, experience the thrill of riding a banana boat and play beach volleyball. Restaurants and cafes in Becici are focused on serving young guests and have a variety of children's dishes on the menu. There are playgrounds for young travelers of all ages in parks and right on the beaches. By the way, the Becici resort beach received the highest European award back in the 30s of the last century.
  • The pine groves surrounding Igalo produce special substances that, in combination with the sea air, turn into a powerful healing factor for the health of weakened children. Children and older children with respiratory health problems are brought to Igalo. The local microclimate even helps to get rid of the manifestations of bronchial asthma. You can sunbathe in Igalo both on the sand and on rocky beaches, and entertain the younger generation in an amusement park with a huge number of merry-go-rounds, slides and swings. The park is considered the largest in Montenegro.
  • The ideal golden sand that covers the Rafailovici beach is already a weighty enough argument to choose this particular resort for families with children. The beach in Rafailovichi was awarded the title of the best in Europe at the beginning of the last century, and since then its comfort and picturesqueness have not diminished in the least. Rafailovici hotels are very cozy and quiet, for noisy nightlife you will have to go to other resorts. But from Rafailovichi it is convenient to get to the canyons of the local rivers - Tara and Morachi and to the valley of eighteen lakes. Young travelers will like boat trips along the coast and fishing on a yacht.
  • Petrovac also boasts a wide sandy beach, varied resort infrastructure and an abundance of entertainment. On the shore you will find catamarans for sailing trips, and in restaurants and cafes there are many dishes for little sweet tooth. The landscapes surrounding the resort are ideal for family photo shoots, hotels gladly accept children and offer special amenities even for babies, and the circus art festivals that take place in summer attract regular fans of Montenegro holidays to Petrovac.

The Montenegrin resort coast is located very compactly, and therefore you can always go on an excursion to any city on the Adriatic Riviera. Such trips will be very interesting for your children, especially since you can even organize them yourself, because public transport on the coast works perfectly.

Montenegrin resorts for active and sports

In Montenegro, a lot of young people are vacationing, and this is not surprising. The country attracts with a variety of opportunities for outdoor activities and affordable prices for hotels, entertainment and excursions.

If your style of recreation involves movement, pay attention to Tivat. Its location is convenient for those who are not used to wasting time: Tivat is located close to the international airport. The infrastructure of the resort is quite impressive. Its beaches are equipped with everything you need for an active holiday. On the beaches of the Tivat Riviera, there are rental points for equipment for water and land entertainment, the proximity of neighboring resorts allows you to go on excursions to the architectural sights of Montenegro, and if you have a Schengen visa - Italy and Croatia, and local restaurants have absolutely everything for pleasant gatherings with friends or romantic evenings with loved ones.

There are not too many noisy nightlife in Becici, but during the day there is something to do here for anyone who prefers to relax actively. On the coast of the resort, a beach volleyball championship is held annually, in which even world champions consider themselves prestigious. The beaches of the resort offer a variety of sports activities: parasailing over the sea, water skiing and motorbiking, catamaran trips, sea fishing and cruises along the coast. On land in Becici, you can play tennis and basketball, rent a bike and take a walk in the scenic surroundings, or pump up your muscles in the gyms. By the way, the resort is connected to Budva by a promenade, so everyone can get to the nightlife in a few minutes.

Can't imagine your summer vacation without diving? Montenegro cannot boast of such a picturesque underwater world as the Egyptian or Jordanian resorts, but fans of wreck diving will love it. The most interesting dive sites are located in the vicinity of the Bar resort, where several wrecks lie on the seabed. Divers in Bar explore the royal yacht, a German cruiser that sank during World War II, and a destroyer belonging to the Austro-Hungarian armed forces.

Treatment in Montenegro

The health-improving programs of the Montenegrin resorts are based on therapeutic factors traditional for the seaside: a unique microclimate, sea water, air rich in phytoncides. The best health resort in the country is Igalo, and the basis of health programs in its health centers is the healing mud that forms at the bottom of the river. Igalka flows through the karst layer and washes away minerals and their salts from it, saturating its own bottom silt. In 1949, the Igalo Institute was opened at the resort, which employs several hundred doctors and nurses.

Wellness programs in Igalo are ideal for patients with pathologies of the musculoskeletal system, endocrine and dermatological diseases. The list of diverse health courses also includes restorative programs that can pleasantly and usefully diversify a beach vacation at one of the best resorts in Montenegro.

TOP-3 summer resorts

Among the variety of Montenegrin resorts, each traveler chooses the one that fully corresponds to his ideas about an ideal vacation:

  • Budva is good because it suits almost any person who is tired of the gray working days and decides that it's time to fly to the sea. If you are going on vacation with children, in Budva you can have a good time on the Guvance beach, where the entrance to the water is relatively gentle. The Blue Flag proudly flies on the Mogren beach, which confirms the ideal ecological situation. It is better for good swimmers to swim here, so that the sharply increasing depth does not become an unpleasant surprise. There is also plenty of entertainment for active tourists in Budva. In one of the best resorts in Montenegro, you will find nightclubs, bars with an impressive list of drinks on the menu, discos where famous European DJs play in high season, and a huge selection of ideas for a sports beach holiday: from bang-jumping and paragliding to skiing. water skiing and motorcycles.
  • The islet of Ada-Boyana is a paradise for travelers seeking unity with nature. The local beach is covered with soft clean sand, the surrounding landscapes can delight even a tourist who is tempted by exotic species, and the authentic cuisine of restaurants in Ada Bojana in a unique way emphasizes the flavor nuances of each product used. On the coast of the resort, it is customary to have a healthy and active rest. Ada Bojana has all the possibilities for surfing and water skiing, horse riding and tennis. Here you can go to sea under sail, and on land everyone likes to walk through the wild forest, where hundreds of species of beautiful plants grow. And on the island you can join the ranks of nudists. For those who prefer to take off all unnecessary things, in Ada Bojana there is not only a beach, but also its own hotels.
  • Would you like an inexpensive holiday in a seaside resort with a beach, the sand of which has medicinal properties? Go to Sutomore, a town whose name is not very well known among the tourist fraternity. But the reputation of the resort as a place for ideal relaxation is well deserved, because in Sutomore everything has developed for this: an ideal mild climate; a large number of sunny days a year; the mineral properties of beach sand, even curing rheumatism; picturesque surroundings; comfortable hotels for which you don't have to pay too much. If you like excursions and architectural monuments of bygone eras, you will also like Sutomore. Many medieval buildings have survived in the resort and in the surrounding area, the history of which is gladly told to guests by local guides.

The beach season on the Montenegrin coast begins during the May holidays and ends in mid-autumn.

Ski Montenegro

Having disintegrated into its constituent parts, the former Republic of Yugoslavia turned into six independent states, and it just so happened that most of the Yugoslav ski resorts went to Bosnia and Herzegovina with Slovenia. But the Montenegrins did not lose heart. They began to develop and improve what was left, and today the republic can offer quite worthy tours to the ski resorts of Montenegro.

The Kolasin resort is located almost a kilometer above sea level on the slopes of the Bjelasitsa and Sinyaevina mountains. The first "swallows" on its routes appear already in mid-November, when a stable snow cover appears on the routes of the resort. Skiing is organized by a pair of sports centers "Bjelasitsa" and "Trebalevo". The length of the most solid track is 4.5 km, and more than two dozen distances have been laid on the slopes of Kolashin. Most of all, the resort will appeal to beginners, and therefore it is ideal for families. Children are offered here not only lessons at the sports school, but also their own lift. By the way, rest in Kolasin can be very varied. In their free time, guests of the resort explore the surroundings: they walk in the national park, study local architectural sights and get acquainted with the museum expositions.

The Durmitor mountain range cannot boast of altitude records - its most impressive peaks rise above sea level by only one and a half kilometers. But the town of Zabljak, where the best ski resort in Montenegro is located, is the highest mountain settlement in Europe. On the slopes of the ski centers Savin Kuk, Stutz and Javoravcha, which are part of the Zabljak region, you can ski already at the beginning of December. The climate in the resort is quite mild and during the height of winter the air temperature hardly drops below -5 ° С in the daytime. Zabljak is ideal for family holidays. Its tracks are not too difficult and will appeal to beginners and intermediate level amateurs. The instructors of the local school will gladly put everyone on the skis and help you choose the right sports equipment at the equipment rental points.

Winter resorts in Montenegro are located in national parks. The ecological situation on the local slopes is almost perfect, and the nature looks pristine and untouched. An important argument in favor of relaxing on the ski slopes of Montenegro is the pleasant prices for all services, hotel accommodation, entertainment and food compared to European alpine resorts.
