The holiday season in Indonesia lasts throughout the year, but tourists come here mainly in May-September (at this time it is not so humid and hot here, while in November-April the wet season prevails here). It is worth noting that, in general, the coast is more humid and hotter than in the mountainous areas.
Features of holidays in Indonesian resorts by seasons
- Spring: Spring is characterized by an abundance of rainfall, but the country is still hot at this time of year. From April the weather begins to gradually improve and becomes ideal for surfing.
- Summer: this time of the year is favorable for beach (water temperature reaches + 26-27 degrees) and sightseeing holidays, because the summer heat is well tolerated thanks to the cool ocean breezes.
- Autumn: the beginning of autumn is characterized by dry and clear weather (this time can be safely devoted to swimming). September's only drawback is the dusty wind that sometimes blows from the north. Since October, it starts to rain in Indonesia, which generally does not interfere with rest. But since November, the amount of precipitation increases, the ocean becomes restless, so only some of the beaches hidden in secluded small coves are suitable for swimming.
- Winter: Although it is hot during this time of year, there is a high likelihood of severe thunderstorms, which can impede swimming in the ocean. In addition, the high winter temperatures are difficult to endure due to rainfall.
Beach season in Indonesia
Throughout the year in Indonesia the temperature is + 26-28 degrees, so, in principle, you can swim in any season, but the most favorable period for such a pastime is May-August.
For sunbathing and swimming, you should choose the following beaches: Padang Padang, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Amed, Padang Bai, Kuta Beach. At your service - clean and warm water, beaches with golden, white and even black sand (they are of volcanic origin).
Diving
The best period for diving is May - September.
After diving in the local waters, you can meet sun fish, cuttlefish, lionfish, turtles, and scorpions. An excellent wreck for year-round diving is the USAT Liberty (a World War II US Army transport ship that sank in 1942). It is located in Tulamben district. If your goal is to take underwater photos to capture blue-ringed octopuses, sea turtles and turbo wings, head to the Wakatobi Archipelago.
