The holiday season in Montenegro lasts throughout the year, since in addition to sea resorts, the country has ski resort areas. But the best time to visit the country is in late April - early July and late August - late September.
Features of rest in Montenegrin resorts by seasons
- Spring: March is not the best time for an excursion vacation, because it often rains here, and the air warms up to + 12-15 degrees. But at this time it is still possible to ski (it snows in the mountains, during the day +6, and at night +3 degrees). In April, the weather becomes more stable, which encourages the exploration of excursion trails. And in May it is quite possible to start swimming in the sea.
- Summer: in addition to swimming in the sea (the air temperature at sea resorts is + 27-30 degrees), at this time of the year you can go hiking in the mountains (in the highlands, the air temperature rises to a maximum of +25 degrees).
- Autumn: At this time of the year, the Adriatic resorts are warmer than spring. In autumn, here you can enjoy persimmons, figs, kiwi, citrus fruits, so do not miss the opportunity to saturate your body with vitamins. If you go to seaside resorts in the "velvet" season (the water warms up to +23 degrees), you will get the most persistent tan.
- Winter: This time will delight skiers and snowboarders, as the skiing season here opens at the end of November and closes at the end of March. Winter in Montenegro is sunny and not cold (there is no colder than -10 degrees here). In January you will have the opportunity to attend the “Festival of the First Snow” (Zabljak resort), and in February - to witness the “Montenegro Ski Fest” competition in Kolasin.
Beach season in Montenegro
The beach season in the country starts in May and ends in the first half of October.
You should definitely relax on one of the beaches that have received the "blue flag" - Topla (city beach: sand + concrete areas), Dobrech (wild pebble beach), Herceg Novi (city beach: sand + concrete), Zanjic (wild beach: pebbles + concrete), Becici (golden sand). If you wish, you should spend time on the Red Beach (it is located in a small bay between Bar and Sutomore). This place looks truly unforgettable thanks to the sand and small stones painted in red, as well as green pines and azure sea.
Diving
Duration of the diving season in Montenegro: late April - early November.
In local waters, you can see wrecks, a large variety of fish, sailing past coral reefs and underwater caves. In addition, in the Black Sea part of the Adriatic Sea, you will have the opportunity to examine old ships that sank during the Second World War.
Holidays in Montenegro will appeal to families with children, newlyweds, active tourists (the country has created ideal conditions for rock climbing, rafting, diving, hiking).
