The Chengdu subway became the eleventh in China. Its first stage was launched in September 2010. So far, there are only two lines operating in the city, the length of routes of which is 41 kilometers. 37 stations for the entry and exit of passengers are open on two lines, at one of which you can transfer from the first to the second line and vice versa. Construction of the Chengdu metro began in 2005, and within five years residents and guests of the city were able to quickly and conveniently travel from the center to the outskirts.

The first line is marked in blue on the diagram. The length of the "blue" line is about 19 kilometers, and 16 stations allow passengers to get to the place of work or study without traffic jams. It connects the southern business district with the North and South train stations.

The second Chengdu subway route is marked in orange on the map and runs from the northwest of the city to the southeast. The first stage of the "orange" line was commissioned in 2012, and today its length is about 23 kilometers. Passengers on this route can use 21 stations to travel on the Chengdu subway. This line connects the city's East Station with its Chadyanzi Bus Station.

In the future, the city authorities are going to build three more lines, as a result of which the Chengdu metro will have a length of all its lines of more than 120 kilometers, and passengers will be able to use trains at 116 stations.

Chengdu subway tickets

Chengdu subway fares are paid by purchasing tickets from machines at stations, the menu of which also provides an English-language version. The cost of the trip depends on the distance of the required station from the center, since all metro lines are divided into tariff zones.
