The airport in Dusseldorf is one of the most beautiful and comfortable in Europe. Everything here in German is measured and comfortable. The third largest airport in Germany has three terminals and receives over 20 million passengers every year. The airport is the main hub of such famous German airlines as Air Berlin and Lufthansa. The largest Russian airlines S7 Airlines, OrenAir, Aeroflot also actively use its services.

History

From the very foundation of the airport in Dusseldorf, it was used by the largest German airline Lufthansa, not only performing flights, but also providing aircraft maintenance.

In the mid-40s, when the allied forces began to approach Berlin, the buildings and facilities of the airport were destroyed almost to the ground. Until 1950, American troops were stationed here, and the reconstruction of the airport was not carried out all this time.

They began to use it as a civil airport immediately after the transfer to the jurisdiction of Bundesrepublik Deutschland. At the same time, the runways were restored, new terminals were built. But the 1996 fire destroyed almost everything. It wasn't just people who suffered. Many structures had to be demolished and rebuilt. Only two years later, the new terminal was launched and international flights were resumed.

Service and maintenance

Airport navigation is very simple and convenient. All key nodes are provided with pointers, diagrams and information posters. Elevators, escalators and airport ramps allow passengers to move around the airport on a mobile basis.

Check-in and baggage handling is the most convenient here. This makes it possible not to spend a lot of time on pre-flight and post-flight formalities. Check-in for a flight starts 1, 5 - 2 hours and ends 30 minutes before departure.

An overhead wagon runs from the terminal to the terminal, and you can also get there to the Dusseldorf Flughafen Fernbahnhof railway station.

While waiting for your flight at the airport, time passes unnoticed. At the service of passengers are numerous cafes, cozy restaurants, a shopping arcade, an excellent panorama of the runway, free Internet.

Luggage packing and transportation services are provided. There are banks, a travel agency, a first-aid post and even a dental clinic.

There is a conference room for business class passengers.
