Description of the attraction
Fuschl am See is an Austrian village located in the federal state of Salzburg on the shores of Lake Fuschl. Fuschl am See is located between Salzburg and Bad Ischl.
The first historical mention of this area dates back to the 8th century. In the 12th century, Fuschl am See was registered as Fuschilsee. In the 13th century, construction began on the Vortenfels castle near Fuschl am See. Currently, only the ruins of the castle have survived.
Today Fuschl am See is a quiet, picturesque village with a school, library and other social infrastructure. Fuschl am See is the headquarters of the Red Bull company, as well as a small timber workshop in the municipality.
Due to its proximity to Salzburg and excellent leisure facilities, Fuschl am See is popular with tourists. The crystal-clear Lake Fuschl, surrounded by the idyllic hills of the foothills of the Alps, provides excellent conditions for outdoor recreation.
