Description of the attraction
The Bad Mitterndorf resort is the pearl of the Salzkammergut area. It welcomes guests both in winter and in summer, offering a variety of entertainment for every taste. In winter, skiers come here, who are attracted by the opportunity to go down the famous Kulm natural springboard and ski on the slopes of the center of Tuplitzalm. The snow cover here is deep enough and does not melt until the end of the season in March.
In summer, Bad Mitterndorf is occupied by those wishing to improve their own health. A few kilometers from the center of the resort are the Heilbrunner thermal springs, known to the ancient Romans. The spring water contains calcium and magnesium salts and helps with diseases of the spine and nervous system.
In 1949, a reservoir appeared on the southern tip of Bad Mitterndorf on the Salz River, the banks of which are used by locals for beach recreation. Fishing lovers will not be disappointed either.
In the immediate vicinity of the famous thermal center "Grimming" there is a park, where a long trail has been created, paved with various stones, pebbles and other materials and intended for massage of bare feet. The trail has 17 stops. Walking along it helps with problems with the musculoskeletal system.
There are several interesting museums in the vicinity of Bad Mitterndorf. One of them - the Shtrik Museum - is dedicated to the history of the region. Another - the Museum of Farmers and Loggers - tells about the peculiarities of the maintenance of local estates and the methods of timber harvesting.
The road from Vienna to Bad Mitterndorf takes only 3 hours, which makes this resort even more accessible.
