Description of the attraction
The Zhitomir Literary and Memorial Museum of V. G. Korolenko is a museum dedicated to the life and work of the famous writer, critic and publicist V. Korolenko. The memorial museum is located in the city of Zhitomir, on V. Korolenko street, 1, in the memorial room - the house in which the writer's childhood and adolescence passed, and acts as a branch-branch of the city museum of local lore. In 1953, the writer's house received the status of a historical monument, and in July 1973, in honor of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the famous writer, the literary-memorial museum of V. Korolenko was opened in it.
Today, the fund of the V. Korolenko Literary Memorial Museum has several thousand exhibits. The museum exposition, housed in seven halls, tells about the life and work of V. Korolenko, his family, circle of acquaintances and cultural and historical background. Among the exhibits of the Zhitomir literary and memorial museum of V. G. Korolenko are memorial things of the Korolenko family, paintings, drawings, sculptures and applied art, works of V. Korolenko and contemporary writers during his lifetime.
The research work of the museum is aimed at studying the era, the biography of the writer and his creative path, as well as the search for objects and facts that were associated with the Zhytomyr period of the writer's life. For its visitors, the V. G. Korolenko Literary and Memorial Museum conducts survey and thematic excursions to the museum expositions, various scientific and educational events based on the works of V. Korolenko, literary and musical evenings, as well as creative meetings with prominent people in the literary living room of the museum.

V. G. Korolenko Museum in Zhitomir. There are inaccuracies in this text. Korolenko is an outstanding Russian writer, public figure, born in Zhitomir. It is wrong to call him a Ukrainian writer.
