Description of the attraction
Mount Tibidabo is the highest peak of the Sierra Collserola mountain range, rising at 512 meters. Mount Tibidabo is one of the most picturesque places in Barcelona and all of Catalonia. The mountain rising towards the northwest offers a beautiful, breathtaking view of the city and the entire coastline.
The name of Mount Tibidabo comes from the Latin words "tibi dabo", which are translated as "I give you" and are a line from the Gospel. “… And I will give all this to you, if, falling down, you worship me…” With these words from a high mountain, Satan tempted Christ, showing him the beauty and blessings of the world. And it is not for nothing that the Atonement Cathedral of Christ, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, was erected on Mount Tibidabo, which is crowned with a statue of the Savior, depicted with open arms.
Here, at the top of the mountain, is the oldest amusement park. All sorts of original attractions, from the almost ancient to the newest, created with the latest technology, as well as the Museum of Robots, invariably attract children of all ages here.
Nearby is the Collserola television tower, which is the tallest structure on the entire coast of the Iberian Peninsula - its height is 268 meters. The tower was designed by the famous English architect Norman Foster. At its very top, an observation deck is open, from where you can admire a stunning view of the city.
You can get to Mount Tibidabo along an interesting route - first by metro, and then by funicular and by a special bus Tibibus, which will take you directly to the top.
