Description of the attraction

Throughout its history, the building of the Northern Building has been used in different ways. In the beginning, these are the shops of the arms factory. Then the officers of the Junker School were quartered in it. In Soviet times, it housed organizations of various types of activities and ministries. In the nineties, it was the temporary residence of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. Now it is the Representative Building of the Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the last restoration of the Cannon Yard in 1997-99. the building was restored to the appearance of the late 18th - early 19th centuries.

A two-storey symmetrical building with a plinth is attached to the northern risalit of the East building. In front of the building there is a large terrace with stairs on the sides. The terrace is surrounded by a balustrade. The stairs are decorated with flowerpots. High plinth with arched windows. The first floor has rustic finish. Second floor with rectangular windows. The floors are separated by two-shelf cornices. In the center of the basement there is a ceremonial portico formed by six pilasters. The pediment rests on them. In the center of the pediment there is a sculpted coat of arms of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The roof is fenced with a balustrade with flowerpots. Flagpoles are installed on the sides of the roof ridge. Flags of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan are flying over the building.
