Description of the attraction

The Church of St. Euphemia is considered the symbol of the city of Rovinj. It was built in the 18th century, and the facade, which is made in the Venetian style, was completed a century later.

The cathedral rises above the city. On the bell tower, which rises to a height of about sixty meters, you can see a tall copper statue of St. Euphemia, this saint is considered the patroness of Rovinj. The five-meter statue also functions as a weather vane. The relics of Saint Euphemia are still kept in the cathedral itself. From the top of the bell tower, visitors have a picturesque view of the old part of the city, the bay and many islands.

The Cathedral in honor of St. Euphemia in the town of Rovinj is rightfully considered one of the main local attractions. It is recognized as the tallest building in the entire city. A newer building of this cathedral was rebuilt in the 17th century where the oldest church of the same name used to be located.

According to the architectural style, the Cathedral of St. Euphemia can be attributed to the Baroque. Although this temple does not differ in special luxury of interior decoration, as well as its appearance from the outside.
