Description of the attraction

Trebiesa Forest Park is a conservation area with a total area of 126 hectares on the mountain of the same name, which rises 752 meters above sea level. The forest park starts from the southeastern part of Niksic, that is, part of it is located right within the city. There are many hiking trails and winding paths leading to the forest, reaching the very top of Trebies.

In addition to hiking (there are many well-groomed walking paths in the forest park), you can admire the unique Montenegrin flora and fauna, which on Trebiesa Mountain is no less rich and diverse than in other picturesque places of this country. Animals and birds live here, as well as unique plants grow.

For example, herbaceous plants, represented by more than 200 species, as well as at least 400 species of various trees. Also, endemic plants, represented by 14 species, grow in the Trebije forest-park zone. All of them are found only here on the Balkan Peninsula. 14 different types of mushrooms, some of which are classified as rare species.

The southwest of the forest park is known for its springs flowing into the Mkroshnitsa, a small river.

At the foot of the mountain, there are sports fields and courts where you can play football or tennis. Thus, active sports meet here with leisurely walks.

The mountain and the forest park zone located on it are protected by the state as a special and valuable natural area.
