Description of the attraction
The Museum of the History of Road Facilities of the State Training Center "Beldorstroy" was opened on January 21, 2004. The collection of the museum began to collect back in 2002. The Museum sets the task of collecting centuries-old experience in the construction of roads and bridges, their maintenance and repair, maintenance of the large road network of the Republic of Belarus, its road facilities and roadside services.
The museum contains the most interesting exhibits demonstrating the development of roads since ancient times. The open area presents various types of paving of roads, roadside milestones, a stone bridge, a roadside chapel (chapel). Also, in the courtyard of the museum, you can see the memorial sign "Bexi historiesii Belarusian darog".
The museum presents operating models of highways in Belarus, both modern and old, models of bridges, operating mechanisms, coachmen's teams and bells.
The museum is divided into the following thematic sections: “Roads of Belarus since ancient times”, “Roads of Belarusian provinces within the Russian Empire from the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century”, “Roads of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War”, “Modern development of highways in the Republic Belarus”,“Minsk Ring Road”,“Bridges of Belarus”,“Belarusian Road Science”. The museum conducts excursions on the history of road development throughout the history of Belarus.
The museum was opened on the basis of an educational institution, therefore, its main task is training and education. Visual classes are held for young people and schoolchildren, interesting excursions and lectures are held.
