Description of the attraction
Miskhor Park is one of the attractions of the Crimean resort village of Miskhor. The park is a monument of landscape architecture, which dates back to the end of the 18th century. The total area of the Miskhor Park is about 23 hectares. An amazing creation by landscape masters was created in 1780-1783. on the estate of the Counts Witte. The authors of the architectural project were Marko and Kebach.
Elements of virgin nature and relief, various trees, rock ledges, heaps of stones are widely used in the architecture of the Miskhorovsky Park. The flora of the park is quite diverse. Over 300 trees and shrubs grow on its territory, among them there are cedars, cypresses, pines, almonds, olives, yews, sequoias and many others. There are also representatives of the flora of North America, Japan and Mexico.
One of the longest alleys in the park is a cypress alley with evergreen pyramidal cypresses, along which L. Tolstoy, A. Chekhov, F. Shalyapin, V. Nemirovich-Danchenko and S. Rachmaninov once walked. Near the cypress alley, there is a famous palm alley, founded by Prince Naryshkin. It is she who is depicted in many photographs of the Miskhor Park.
Another pride of this park is the century-old Himalayan cedar - the oldest tree growing in the park. Next to him is a fifty-year-old Lebanese cedar. It should be noted that the Lebanese cedar, together with cypress, is used in the emblem of the southern coast of Crimea.
Miskhorsky Park is located on a relatively flat place, so there are no steep and long descents and ascents. In addition, the park has a wide variety of pavilions and benches, so walking around it is not at all tiring. On the territory of the Miskhorsky Park there is an amazing color and music fountain, which makes an unforgettable show for vacationers, a dance floor and a summer cinema.
