Description of the attraction
On the western coast of the Greek island of Rhodes, about 50 km from its administrative center of the same name and just a few kilometers from the famous resort of Lindos, there is a small cozy bay of St. Paul, which is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful places on the island and is especially popular with fans of the traditional beach holiday. This piece of paradise got its name from the tiny snow-white chapel located at the southern end of the bay, consecrated in honor of St. Paul, who preached Christianity on the island in the 1st century AD.
St. Paul's Bay is a small cove surrounded by picturesque cliffs with two sandy and pebble beaches isolated from each other (large and small, each of them has its own parking), crystal-clear sea waters, sun loungers and sun umbrellas (for rent) and renowned for its lack of crowds, such as on the beach of Lindos. There are also several bars for refreshing drinks and snacks. It is worth noting that the large beach (located on the side where the St. Paul's chapel is) is much better organized, and, as a result, it is quite crowded and noisy here, while the beach in the northern part of the bay is much more modest, but undoubtedly much more will appeal to lovers of secluded relaxation.
St. Paul's Bay offers a magnificent view of the Acropolis of Lindos, located on the top of a huge steep cliff, at an altitude of 116 m above sea level. This is one of the most interesting and impressive sights of the island of Rhodes and is definitely worth a visit.
