Description of the attraction

The Taoist Lin Fong Temple was built in Macau at the end of the 16th century, more precisely in 1592, near the border gate of Portas de Serco. This temple was erected in honor of Kun Yam - the goddess of mercy, whose statue adorns the main altar of the temple.

The building is a complex of eight temple buildings. Each of these rooms is dedicated to a specific mythological character, a certain moral quality or a saint. The temple was named after the hill where it was erected.

With the coming to power of the Qing Dynasty, which ruled from the 17th to the 20th century, the temple began to be used by mandarins - Chinese officials as a hotel. Only at the end of the twentieth century was a major restoration of the Lin Fong temple carried out. After that, he became the most beautiful landmark of the city of Macau.

Macau is a large seaport, so a statue of the Chinese goddess of the sea, Tin Hau, is installed in one of the temple buildings. In the center of the complex there is a platform surrounded by a border with relief sculptures of dragons - a courtyard with a garden. In the garden, in the shade of old trees, you can admire a small lotus pond, whose bloom fills the air with truly magical aromas. The façade of the temple is decorated with clay bas-reliefs from Chinese mythology and history.

The temple complex also includes a memorial to Zex Lin, the Chinese national hero of the 19th century. Lin Zeku, being an official, often stayed in the temple for the night. Once there they were offered a law prohibiting the open trade of opium. For this, a monument was erected in his honor.

The pacification and harmony prevailing here give the visitors spiritual grace.
