Description of the attraction
Valpolicella is a small picturesque valley in the vicinity of Verona, world famous for its wines - "Recioto", "Ripasso" and "Amarone". In addition, the valley is home to a number of cultural and historical sites worth visiting. Tourists will love the cozy medieval towns of San Pietro Incariano, Fumane, Negrar, Pedemonte, in each of which you can find more than one excellent winery and good restaurants. However, it is worth noting that not every winery can be accessed "from the street" - for example, in Negrar, the "City of Wine", there are only a few places where they offer to taste this popular drink. And in each of these places you need to call in advance and arrange your visit. Negrar has a market on Mondays where you can buy whatever your heart desires, from the freshest local produce to handcrafted souvenirs.
In addition to wine in Valpolicella, you should try the delicacies of the local cuisine: for example, fresh or aged Monte Veronese cheese, produced in the mountains of Verona, “Soppressa” sausage or “risotto al amarone” - risotto with Amarone wine.
Lovers of natural beauty will also not be disappointed by the vibrant landscapes and landscapes of Northern Italy. So, in the town of Molina, a few kilometers from Fumane, there is a beautiful park "Cascades of Molina" with waterfalls and accessible hiking trails.
Getting to Valpolicella is relatively easy - from Verona, take the A4 towards Trento. By the way, not far from the valley is Lake Garda - the largest in Italy and one of the most famous in the world.
