Description of the attraction
Valdisotto is a popular ski resort located at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level 55 km from the town of Sondrio. About 3, 5 thousand people permanently live on its territory.
Valdisotto, located in the so-called Bassa Valtellina region, is a kind of gateway to the mountainous landscapes of Bormio. The dense forest covering the valley floor and the mountain slopes is traversed by numerous scenic trails leading to pastures and viewing platforms from which breathtaking views can be enjoyed. Valdisotto's territory includes the tiny villages of Chepina, Oga, Piatta, Piazza, Santa Lucia and Tola. The most famous is Chepina, located a few kilometers from Bormio in the Adda Valley.
In winter, Valdisotto turns into a prestigious ski resort. Here you can slide down the slopes of Monte Vallachetta (300 meters), Bormio 200 and Cuic (1580 m). Numerous hotels are always ready to receive visitors, and in the restaurants you can taste the delicacies of local cuisine. A few kilometers from Valdisotto, you can enjoy other sports such as tennis, swimming, horse riding, ice skating or hiking.
In summer, the entire Valdisotto area is ideal for hiking and mountain biking on the slopes of Monte Vallachetta and Chimi Piazzi. Karting is another popular type of summer vacation for children and adults, where pleasure is combined with absolute safety. Nearby Bormio has nine golf courses, tennis courts, a swimming pool, basketball court and beach volleyball court.
