Description of the attraction
The Palais des Beaux-Arts is also called the National Museum of Art in Cuba. It is the main center of art and painting in the country. Its funds are rich and amazing, which makes the museum complex one of the most significant in the world. There are more than 47 thousand exhibits in the Palace. The museum is located in the historic center of Havana on Trocadero street. Surrounded by ancient majestic palaces, the modern building, built at the end of the 20th century, successfully blended with the architecture of the street.
The building area is more than 8000 square meters, on which 1200 exhibits are presented. Among them, you will see paintings, prints and drawings by famous local artists, as well as sculptures. Paintings by more than 300 artists are exhibited in the spacious halls of the museum. Moreover, all works of art are strictly divided into 4 blocks, which allows you to track the development and growth of Cuban culture. Not far from the Palace of Fine Arts is the Asturian Center, where you can get acquainted with the works of great masters from other countries, including the works of the Dutch, Flemish, German, French, American, Italian, English schools, as well as Latin America and Asia. It houses a unique collection of exhibits from the Ancient World, Greece, Egypt, Rome, and the most complete collection of paintings by Spanish artists.
