For a vacation to be successful, it is not enough to buy a ticket, take out insurance, order plane tickets, you also need to properly pack your suitcase and carry-on luggage. A huge role on vacation is played by a travel cosmetic bag: what to take to distant countries or on a day trip to a neighboring town, what you can leave at home, what to pay special attention to - these questions worry many travelers.
New rules
The contents of the travel cosmetic bag will now be slightly different than a year and a half ago. The coronavirus dictates its own rules, not adhering to which would be dangerous to health and life.
So, in addition to the standard set of cosmetics, you need to take with you:
- antiseptic - preferably two bottles, of which one can be left at the hotel, and the second can be taken with you to the beach and walks;
- wet wipes, which are also antiseptic;
- protective masks and gloves - either a heap of disposable, or several high-quality reusable.
We recommend getting these items at least for the first days of your vacation. Then, when you get comfortable in an unfamiliar city, you can buy the missing one in a supermarket or pharmacy.

The main principle by which you need to assemble a travel cosmetic bag is to determine the most practical and functional means. These include those cosmetics that can be used for different purposes. For example, micellar water serves both as a cleanser and tonic for the skin, and cream blush is often used not only for its intended purpose, but also as a lipstick or eye shadow.
Often in magazines for ladies, travelers are advised to take on the road running out of creams, lipsticks, etc. They can be used to the end and discarded before flying home. This advice is not without common sense, but imagine that your favorite remedy is still in the bottle. It's a pity to throw it away, so you have to take home an almost empty package, which can be quite voluminous and takes up a lot of precious space in your suitcase.
For travelers' cosmetic bags, special travel kits are produced, consisting of small bottles with and without dispensers, miniature jars for several portions of cream. These kits are sold at regular beauty stores.
You can put your favorite shampoo, make-up remover and similar cosmetics in mini plastic jars with tight-fitting lids. By the way, these bottles, designed for 100 mg of liquid, are allowed to be taken with you in your carry-on luggage.
Competent approach
The easiest way is to take probes with you on your trip. They are suitable for carry-on luggage, are lightweight and are quickly consumed. But it is desirable that these were samples of brands well known to you and already tested for a long time. You don't need allergic reactions to an unfamiliar product, do you?
Before pouring all the products from the dressing table into your cosmetic bag, think about whether they will definitely come in handy on vacation. Does a remote sanatorium need a huge set of eyeshadows? Will alginate masks come in handy after a long excursion?
Therefore, let's select all the cosmetics for the trip calmly, carefully and competently.
The most necessary
On any journey, you will surely need products designed to cleanse, nourish and protect the skin from environmental influences.
Make-up remover wipes and micellar water come in handy as cleansers.
A nourishing cream, eye patches, masks, hand cream will be responsible for moisturizing and nourishing the skin on trips. The latter is especially needed in ski resorts. By the way, an effective hand cream that helps with dry skin at low temperatures can be bought on the spot - at any ski resort there is a shop that sells good cosmetics, which you cannot find at home. If only simply because we do not have such severe winters as in the mountains, which means that suitable creams are not brought to us.
In the mountains and the sea, where UV levels are very high, bring high SPF sunscreens and hygienic lipsticks.
All the rest
Don't forget to pack your personal care products in your cosmetic bag. Recklessly pouring shampoo and shower gel into small bottles, remember that in most decent hotels these products will be in every bathroom.
In luxury hotels, you can also count on small bars of soap, cream samples and wet wipes.
It is worth putting deodorant, napkins or gel for intimate hygiene, toothpaste in the cosmetic bag.
Choosing decorative cosmetics on the road, focus only on your preferences. Some travelers prefer to give their skin a break during their holidays and completely refuse to use lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara, etc.
Other tourists don't feel confident without makeup. We recommend that they put a minimum of decorative cosmetics in their suitcase. Why minimum? But they are waiting for duty-free ahead, from where it is very difficult for ladies to leave without shopping. So they will have new lipsticks, perfumes, toners and similar pleasant little things.
