How to get to Side is a question that worries many visitors. The easiest way to fly here is by plane, but if you wish, you can find other travel options.
By plane to Side
Side does not have its own airport. All tourists wishing to relax on the Turkish Riviera arrive in Antalya, which is only 75 km from the Side resort. Air transport arrives in Antalya, especially during the high season, from different cities of Russia. There are always tickets for planes departing from the capital's airports: Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, Zhukovsky.
More than 10 flights a day are operated by Turkish Airlines planes from Vnukovo. Two direct flights daily are offered by the Turkish company Atlasglobal (departure - from Sheremetyevo). From the same airport, you can go to the south of Turkey using the transport of Onur Air and Aeroflot. SunExpress planes fly from Zhukovsky to Antalya on Tuesdays. You will have to spend 3 hours 25 minutes in the air.
The average cost of a ticket to Antalya per adult passenger in September is approximately $ 130. During the winter months, the price of a direct flight to the Turkish Riviera rises to $ 150-180. This is due to the New Year holidays, for which many tourists come to Turkey. You can fly to Antalya with one short change, for example, in Istanbul or Mineralnye Vody. The ticket price for such flights will be lower: the traveler can save about $ 20. The journey will take about 5 hours. A flight with a connection in December-January is especially profitable, when you can find tickets for 70-80 dollars.
Petersburg Pulkovo Airport and Antalya are also connected by direct flights of Atlasglobal, Aeroflot and Turkish Airlines. The flight duration is 4 hours.
How to get to Side from the airport
It is worth choosing, albeit an expensive, but at the same time fast option for moving to Side by plane for those who:
- travels with children who cannot stand the long journey by bus or ferry;
- goes to rest with elderly relatives - for the same reason;
- is limited in time and cannot spend a day of his vacation on the road only there;
- dreams of leaving the gray days behind and after three hours of flight to finally see the Mediterranean Sea.
From Antalya airport to Side can be reached in just an hour by taxi or local minibus - dolmus. Most tourists book an individual transfer at the selected hotel, but you can significantly save on travel by using public transport. A dolmus ticket to Side will cost about 30 Turkish lira. A taxi ride will cost 10 times more.
Bus and ferry

- bus. It is not possible to get from Moscow or St. Petersburg to the Turkish Side without transfers by bus: the distance between these settlements is too great. First you need to get to the countries with which Turkey borders and between which there is a bus connection. For example, comfortable buses of the Turkish company “Metro” go from the Georgian Batumi to the city of Afyon-Karahisar. There you need to take a bus to Antalya, and then take a minibus to Side. The road is very tiring and takes about 22 hours.
- ferry. There is nothing easier than to get to some Turkish city, for example, Trabzon, by ship via the Black Sea, from where you can take a bus to Antalya and then to Side.
