Choosing wings

Budva is located in the very middle of the Adriatic coast of Montenegro. Airports located nearby are Tivat, Podgorica and Croatian Dubrovnik:

  • S7 aircraft fly directly to Tivat from Moscow. Regular flights operate daily, the cost of roundtrip tickets is approximately 260 euros. The flight will take 3, 5 hours. Aeroflot also offers its services in this direction, but estimates them a little more expensive - from 300 euros. A ticket for a Montenegro Airlines plane costs about the same. There are about 50 kilometers between Budva and Tivat airport.
  • From the Russian capital directly to Podgorica, and then to Budva, you can get by flights operated by Rossia Airlines from Vnukovo. Tickets will cost about 500 euros, which is significantly more expensive than the connection option offered by, for example, Austrian airlines. A flight with a stopover in Vienna will cost only 200 euros. Turks are not too expensive, and a ticket on board Turkish Airlines will cost 240 euros. In this case, you will have to transfer to a flight to Montenegro in Istanbul. The distance from Podgorica airport to Budva is about 60 kilometers.
  • The airport in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik is located 70 km from Budva. Air Serbia planes fly there from Moscow for 250 euros with a transfer in Belgrade and the same Austrians and Turks. Austrian Airlines and Turkish Airlines fly through Vienna and Istanbul and estimate their services at 250 and 260 euros, respectively. To fly to Dubrovnik in Croatia, a Russian tourist will need a Schengen visa.

You can keep track of airline special offers and buy low-cost tickets using email newsletters. You will be offered to subscribe to it on the websites of air carriers.

How to get to Budva from airports

If you arrived in Tivat, you can get to the selected hotel on the beaches of Budva by taxi or public transport. The second option is significantly cheaper and is not particularly difficult. You have to buy a ticket for one of the Blueline or Gardasevic buses. There are five flights in total during the day, the fare is about 4 euros. You will have to spend about 40 minutes on the way.

Podgorica airport and Budva beaches are separated by about 65 kilometers, which can be covered by a regular bus. First, you have to get to Podgorica itself. Taxi drivers will ask for about 15 euros for their services, a bus trip will cost an order of magnitude cheaper. In the city you need to find a bus station, from where intercity buses leave for Budva every half hour. The price of a one-way ticket is approximately 6 euros. The road will take about an hour and a half.

The car is not a luxury

The prettiest way to travel on the roads of Montenegro is to travel with a rented car. The scenery along the way is magnificent, and the roads are kept in near perfect condition.

You can rent a car right at the airport when you arrive in Montenegro. The most popular car rental companies in Europe and the world are represented in the arrivals area of passenger terminals at both Tivat and Podgorica airports.
