Phuket's popular beaches are mostly covered with white sand and have excellent conditions for recreation, and some of them are aimed at fans of diving and snorkelling, while others “life” continues at night thanks to organized discos.
Holidays on the popular beaches of Phuket
Phuket's bathing beaches cover the west coast and southern tip of the island. They all have easy access to the water and are relatively clean.
- Karon Beach. Guests of the 3-kilometer Karon Beach swim in the Andaman Sea, walk on the unusual sand (it contains a large amount of quartz), crisp underfoot like snow, visit spa centers, go diving, and find themselves in the hands of massage therapists. The northern part of the beach is aimed at young people, while the southern part is aimed at families with children.
- Patong Beach. The 4-kilometer coastline is occupied by a sandy beach and youth groups eager to spend time at noisy parties that last until the morning. Patong Beach is suitable for those who want to visit transvestite shows, strip clubs, parasailing and water sports.
- Bang Tao Beach. On the 8-kilometer beach, there are cafes, bars, sun loungers, umbrellas, hotels offering a yacht or boat ride along the bay. You can stay in the hotel complex Laguna Phuket with a developed infrastructure (those who wish can attend golf courses).
- Kamala Beach. The 1.5 km beach is home to coral reefs, a diving center, sun loungers, Thai food stalls, restaurants and cafes. You can admire Kamala Beach, which is immersed in the greenery of the tropical forest, from the observation deck on the Khao Phonthurat hill.
- Kata beach divided into two parts: supporters of a quiet pastime are accommodated on one section of the beach; surfers gather on another beach area (winds that raise waves prevail in May-October). Here you can find street eateries with Thai food, restaurants and shops.
- Nai Harn Beach. There is no shortage of shops and restaurants on Nai Narn Beach, but there are no nightlife spots. The beach is suitable for families and children, as well as for divers and snorkelers, and those who want to have a picnic.
- Laem Sing Beach. The descent to this beach, located between the rocks, is carried out by stairs. People flock here to admire the sunsets, shop for souvenirs at the appropriate shops, have a snack at one of 4 restaurants, sit on a sun lounger under an umbrella, go wakeboarding and water skiing, and in November-May have fun at the weekly Soundwave Sunday parties.
- Mai Khao Beach. The difference between the 11-kilometer Mai Khao Beach lies in the fact that here the entrance to the water is quite steep, but you can find secluded places to rest and see sea turtles coming here in November-February to lay their eggs. There are no cafes and restaurants on the beach, so it is advisable to take care of water and provisions.
- Naithon Beach. Kilometer-long Naithon Beach, covered with fine yellow sand, occupies the northern part of Phuket: here you can relax on rented sun loungers, visit Thai cafes, and cross the road to use the services of massage parlors.
- Tri Trang Beach. Lovers of relaxation will be surrounded by azure water and shady trees. Tri Trang Beach is equipped with tropical authentic cafes, Asian and European restaurants. Thanks to corals and a rich underwater world, diving and snorkeling are developed here (the necessary equipment is rented on the beach). In addition, Tri Trang Beach offers Thai massage, beach volleyball, paragliding, banana rides, water scooters or rented kayaks.
