This point of obtaining citizenship used to be easier, in order to become a resident of this country there was no need to stay in this power for 3 years after the legalization of relations. However, since 2005, the current interpretation of the law has changed.

Double citizenship

Ireland's laws, which are still in effect in 2016, allow and recognize de facto dual citizenship. This means that a person who has acquired Irish citizenship can retain their other citizenship. Required documents for registration of citizenship: a copy of the internal passport of a person wishing to become a legal resident of Ireland, a foreign passport (copy), a document from the internal affairs bodies stating that a person has no criminal record, a birth certificate, a marriage certificate or its termination (copies of these documents, certified by a notary), the autobiography is written in free form, very briefly, a certificate from the clinic about the absence of diseases dangerous to society, as well as the absence of mental disorders, four photographs of the established sample.

Copies of documents must be certified by a notary, and also translated into English, after which they are sent for consideration and certification to the consular department.
