Weekend tours to Lviv are not only an opportunity to visit the unofficial cultural capital of Ukraine, but also just have a good weekend. This ancient city - Lviv was founded, by the way, was in the twelfth century - annually receives hundreds of thousands of tourists. The trip will surely turn out to be intense!
The cost of travel
You can go to Lviv from Moscow or St. Petersburg by plane, train and, if you really want to, even by bus. But since it is a weekend tour that is planned, preference should be given to air travel.
The price of a one-way plane ticket starts at 10,900 rubles. In any case, there are no direct flights Moscow - Lviv, transfers are provided everywhere. Depending on which flight is chosen, the travel time can vary from ten to twenty two hours. In the latter case, it is quite comparable to a trip to Lviv by rail.
The price of a hotel reservation is quite reasonable and starts from 1300 rubles per night. Together with the flight and the paid hotel room, one day in Lviv will cost an average of 52,000 rubles.
What can you see?
Of course, one day will not be enough to explore Lviv, so it is best to plan a two- or three-day trip. This is quite enough to walk around the old streets of the city and see its sights:
- appreciate the beauty of the Mari Square;
- visit the rooms of the Potocki palace;
- look in and admire the masterpieces of the gallery;
- be sure to visit the Shkotskaya coffee shop and Zalevsky's confectionery.
There are many interesting museums in the city, so the trip will not seem boring.
Lviv castles
The city is especially interesting for its well-preserved medieval architecture, represented by numerous castles. Going on an organized tour, you can see if not all, then more castles. The tour called "The Golden Horseshoe of Lviv Region" is especially popular among the guests of the city. It is this trip that allows you to see the most beautiful castles of Lviv - Podgoretsky, Zolochevsky and Olesky.
Pidhirtsi Castle reproduces the architecture of European complexes. The palace is surrounded by a beautiful Italian-style park. It is impossible to find anything like this in Ukraine anymore. The "highlight" of the Podgoretsky castle is the ghost of the wife of Count Zhevusky living in it.
Zolochiv Castle is represented by the so-called Great and Chinese Palaces. A large-scale exposition is located in the Big Castle. Both buildings are connected by an underground passage through which you can get to a real oriental museum: here you will find parts of Egyptian sarcophagi, beautiful oriental fabrics, and Japanese graphics.
Olesky Castle is the oldest building in Western Ukraine.
