Districts of Dublin are represented on the map of the Irish capital. Dublin has three main areas.
Dublin neighborhood names and descriptions
- Temple Bar: this is a place of concentration of shops, pubs, galleries, the cultural center "Project Arts Center", theaters "The Olympia" and "The New Theater", Dublin Castle (concerts are held in its underground; anyone can visit the castle itself when it does not hold solemn ceremonies), the Cathedrals of Christchurch and St. Patrick (public ceremonies are often held here), the Guinness Brewery (in addition to the fact that here guests can treat themselves to Irish beer in the Gravity bar, they will be able to go to inspect the Guinness warehouse and exhibition, dedicated to the history of the brewery), the Irish Museum of Modern Art. And if you wish, you can join an excursion group heading to Kilmanham prison (famous people served their sentences here).
- Northern part: walking along O'Connell Street, you will be able to see the Monument of Light and the Main Post Office (there is a museum with documents stored in it related to the history of the postal service and the post office itself), and a walk along Church Street will be accompanied by an inspection of the Four Courts Building (is a reflection of Dublin classicism) and St. Michan's. Travelers are advised to go to the Jameson distillery: a tour of it will be accompanied not only by tasting of whiskey, bourbon and scotch - guests will be offered to listen to a story about the traditions of these drinks and stand on the observation deck to contemplate the panorama of the city. Phoenix Park deserves special attention - it is famous for its zoo (its inhabitants are about 600 individuals), the Wellington memorial, the presidential residence and Ashtown castle; here you can relax in the shade of the trees, sitting on one of the benches, and walk along the well-groomed paths; and if you wish, you can capture a deer in a photo, rewarding him for posing with a delicious reward.
- Southern part: attractions deserve the attention of travelers - the Old Library (old Irish manuscripts are stored here), the Duke of Leinster's mansion, the statue of Molly Malone, the National Museum (a place where ritual objects, things owned by cultural and historical figures, Viking relics), St. Stephens Green (in addition to walking in the park, you can see the statues and busts located there; and it is also famous for its park for the blind, where signs to plants are signed in Braille), Marion Square (where the writer's house and a monument to Oscar Wilde are located).
Where to stay for tourists
The best places to stay for travelers are the southern districts of Dublin, namely the prestigious quarters Bray, Dalkey, Ranelagh (there are far from cheap accommodation facilities).
Tourists interested in a fun and noisy holiday should stay in hotels near O'Connell Street - they will be able to listen to music and drink beer in local pubs all day long.
