Where to stay for a tourist
The first (a prestigious area with geothermal springs) and Second (a respectable area stretching from the Danube embankment) districts of Buda and Sixth (a picturesque area - it was nicknamed the “Hungarian Champs Elysees”) area of Pest are considered the best places for tourists.
If you are interested in living in a relatively inexpensive area of the city, then you should look for a hotel in the vicinity of Battyani Square.
If you are going to Budapest for a spa vacation, then you are recommended to stay in one of the hotels on Margaret Island (almost all of them have their own spa complex), which is also ideal for walking and jogging.
