By European standards, prices in Suriname are not high, but by South American standards, this country is considered expensive (the cost of living and food here will be slightly higher than the average in the region).
Shopping and souvenirs
The ideal place for shopping is Paramaribo: here you can go shopping in jewelry and craft shops, souvenir shops and markets (central, fish). Here you will also come across shopping centers built especially for tourists. So, it is worth taking a closer look at the Maretraite Mall - here you can get perfumery products, designer clothes, and alcoholic beverages. And in Chinese shops you can buy silk products, jade jewelry, decor items, art glass products, decorative dolls.
As for wooden products for household use (plates, cups, bowls with carvings), it is advisable to go to the small town of Albina for them.
What to bring from Suriname?

Excursions and entertainment
