Despite the fact that prices in Bulgaria have increased in recent years, the cost of living here is quite low.
Shopping and souvenirs
Going on vacation to Bulgaria, it is worth considering that you can buy local delicacies, souvenirs, alcohol and other goods at very attractive prices, but you should not count on the purchase of items from international brands such as Zara at an ultra-low cost.
In memory of Bulgaria, you can purchase:
- eau de toilette, oil and perfume from the Valley of the Roses;
- clothing, footwear, leather products, jewelry;
- clay and wood products, copper dishes, embroidered textiles;
- Bulgarian spices, sweets, brandy (local vodka), wine.
If you decide to buy rakia, then you should know that the cost of 1 bottle (750 mg) is 1-3, 5 euros. You will have to pay no more than 3 euros for local wine, and 7-8 euros for vintage wine.
Excursions
If you go on an excursion "Antique Nessebar", you will move around the ancient city by bus, visit the churches and temples of the city, and in your free time you will relax on the beach of the Sunny Beach resort. The approximate cost of the excursion is 17 euros.
On an excursion to the ostrich ranch, you can meet amazing animals and buy some nice little things in the gift shop. And after visiting the ranch, an excursion to the “Stone Forest” with a picnic will be organized for you. The approximate cost of the excursion is 10-15 euros.
Entertainment
The cost of entertainment in Bulgaria is not very high, for example, the prices for a ticket to a theater or a zoo cost from 1 euro, and to museums - 3-5 euro.
If you are a lover of active entertainment, you should go on a jeep safari through picturesque protected areas. During such a rest, you will cross the river, shoot from pneumatic weapons, and also have a picnic in the forest. The approximate cost of a jeep safari is 35 euros.
With children, it is worth going to Varna to the dolphinarium to watch an unforgettable dolphin show (the cost of the entrance ticket is 25 euros for an adult and 12 euros for a child). And dads with their sons can go to the Pirate Party - this kind of entertainment involves a walk on board a motor sailboat and participation in the “sea battle”. The approximate cost is € 30 for an adult and € 15 for a child.
Transport
For a one-way ticket when traveling by public transport around the city, you will pay 0, 5 euros, and when traveling from city to city - about 20 euros. If you decide to order a taxi, then you will be charged 0, 4 euros for landing and the same for 1 km.
Going on a trip on a budget option (staying in a cheap hotel, purchasing local food, traveling by public transport), your daily expenses will be approximately 25 euros per person. But on vacation in Sofia you will have to spend 2.5-3 times more money.
