Higher education in Serbia
You can get higher education in Serbia at public and private universities, as well as private schools (tuition is paid for foreign citizens).
For admission, you will need a high school diploma and a receipt for payment of the entrance fee. Important: it is impossible to enter a Serbian university without knowing the Serbian language!
The academic year in Serbian universities begins in early October and lasts 30 weeks. In universities, as a rule, lectures are taught by a professor, and practice - by an assistant (he also checks homework).
The educational program is based on a point system: to close a subject, you need to score more than 50 points (for example, 15 points are awarded for weekly tests, 5-20 points for homework, and 7 points for activity in lectures and seminars).
To obtain a compulsory degree (bachelor's), you need to study for 3-4 years. Then, after studying for another 1-2 years in postgraduate training, you can get a master's degree, and after 3 years of study - a master's degree or a doctor's degree.
Universities are focused on teaching academic and scientific knowledge, and higher schools allow you to master practical specialization (duration of study is 3-5 years). As for medical education, training at such faculties as pharmacy, veterinary science, dentistry will last approximately 5-6 years.
It is possible to enroll in a college of applied or academic sciences, but upon graduation, graduates are only awarded a bachelor's or graduate's degree.
If you wish, you can enter an international university, for example, New York University in Belgrade: the language of instruction here is English, and students have the opportunity to complete all three levels of higher education.
Getting an education in Serbia means getting an education abroad and an additional bonus when applying for a job in European countries.
