Description of the attraction
Natural sulfur springs are found in the south of the island, near the village of Soufriere, which can be reached by bus from the capital of Dominica Roseau. The locals speak the Patois dialect (the local dialect of French) and are very expressive. Your path begins near the village, you choose the left road and walk on foot until the ascent to the sulfur springs.
At the very beginning, you can already see special wooden houses without windows, without doors, without walls and without a roof. They are built so that travelers can sit in the sulfur baths and relax as much as possible. These sources are made by human hand. You can go further and see already real natural sulfur springs, in which it is so pleasant to bask. They have a beneficial and healing effect on the skin, after sulfur baths it will be smooth and soft.
After that, the path begins to go uphill, and takes about 30 minutes at a brisk pace. Around you will be a dense forest with lush vegetation: tall tropical plants, bizarrely curved tree trunks, bright sunlight breaks through the foliage of the trees and dazzles your eyes. Lizards and other animals can be seen here. Hurricanes periodically occur here, which change the surrounding landscape. In addition, you will see amazing streams and rivulets, which can be called tea rivers, milk rivers. Pay attention to the beautiful landscapes and colorful candy stones. After reaching the spring, sit in a hot sulfur bath and appreciate the unique surrounding landscape.
