Description of the attraction
Aquarium "Shark Reef" in the city of Yeysk is an "underwater museum" with real inhabitants of the aquatic environment. It is located on the sea coast of the city, in the resort area "Kamenka", and is the first and only oceanarium on the Azov coast.
Shark Reef was opened quite recently - in the summer of 2009, but despite this, it has already become a real leisure center for both local residents and guests of the resort. The total area of the aquarium is 700 sq.m. Its design resembles a rocky island.
The center is equipped with 12 aquariums of different sizes, designed for different types of fish. Their total capacity is more than 260 tons. All of them are filled with fresh and sea water and are intended for keeping aquatic animals.
The largest aquarium, with a volume of 150 tons, reproduces the flora and fauna of the Shark Reef, located in the Red Sea. The smallest aquarium is designed for 1,000 liters of water. One of the side walls of the aquarium has been made transparent, which gives visitors the opportunity to conveniently observe the marine life.
Giant aquariums with diverse representatives of the aquatic world are equipped with the most modern water purification technologies, thanks to which marine inhabitants feel comfortable even in captivity. Unusual design and animation make a visit to the aquarium exciting and unforgettable. Here, each visitor will be able to see about 200 species of rare marine representatives, including turtles, sharks, tropical fish, jellyfish, ascidians, snails, molluscs and other inhabitants.
One of the most interesting performances for spectators is feeding the pets of the aquarium by the staff of the institution right under the water. In addition, the oceanarium conducts various educational and entertainment programs for its visitors, as well as demonstrates fascinating thematic videos about animals.
At the entrance to the Shark Reef Oceanarium, guests are greeted by a seven-meter shark that resembles a real ocean monster. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff will make your visit to the aquarium easy and memorable.
