Description of the attraction

A small but very interesting museum and cultural research center, known as the Tibetan House, is located in the capital of India, Delhi. This institution was originally established in 1965 by the Dalai Lama with the aim of popularizing Tibetan culture and preserving its rich heritage, and as a center for the study of Buddhism. The exposition of the museum was collected bit by bit by ordinary Tibetans. In addition to the museum, thus, through the joint efforts of all the people, an excellent library was also created.

The museum building is located in the heart of New Delhi, in a modern five-story building. It contains about 5,000 different books and manuscripts, works of art, religious objects and temple utensils, and much more. It also hosts lectures, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, festivals, film screenings and various meetings on the history of Buddhism, philosophy, art and literature.

In addition, a Buddhist society was created in the United States in 1987 by Columbia University professor Robert Thurman, famous Hollywood actor Richard Gere and contemporary composer Philip Glass, which helps the Delhi Tibetan House in every possible way.

Due to the fact that the issue of Tibet's independence today is very acute and attracts the attention of many people around the world, the Tibet House is visited annually by a huge number of tourists who are sincerely interested in getting to know this ancient and deep culture better.
