Description of the attraction

The Museum of Criminalistics of Gomel was created on the basis of the Museum of Military Glory in 2010 at the initiative of the regional executive committee and the Council of Deputies, the Department of Internal Affairs of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, the regional department of the State Security Committee, the court and prosecutor's office of the Gomel Region.

The purpose of the museum is to acquaint the general public with the work of a criminologist, to popularize this dangerous and interesting profession among young people, to favorably adjust public opinion so that ordinary Belarusian citizens assist criminologists in their work.

The museum shows the history of Belarusian criminalistics, from 1917 to the present day. Despite the fact that this is one of the youngest museums in Gomel, it has already collected a large number of interesting exhibits that will be of interest not only to ordinary visitors, but also to professionals.

The exposition shows how the uniform of the Belarusian policemen, their weapons and technical equipment have changed. A separate exposition is devoted to all kinds of fraud and their evolution. Visitors will learn how the swindlers of the times of Ostap Bender differ from the modern swindlers. The "Criminalist's Table" exposition tells about the improvement of technical methods of investigating crimes and searching for dangerous criminals. The Wall of Fame tells about the prominent criminologists and policemen of the Gomel region.

The museum will be of interest to both adults and children. Interesting excursions are held here, where a person who knows his profession will tell and show you the history of each exhibit. Within the walls of the museum, Gomel criminologists meet with students and schoolchildren. Professional holidays of law enforcement agencies are held.
